Have you watched Doomsday yet? Are you not over everything that happened in that episode of Doctor Who, and are you sobbing in a corner, cursing the name of BBC? (Oh, good, you’re doing the exact same thing we are.) Well, how would you like a DIY Black tea, rose, and honey lip balm to remind you that The Doctor and Rose will be apart forever? At least they can be together in cosmetic form.
I was lucky enough to snag a copy of the new companion book to the show Once Upon a Time. If you aren’t a self-described Oncer yet, let me tell you why you should be: the show is awesome. Ridiculous, cutesy, silly, fun, fairy-tale-infused awesome. If you are a Oncer, please feel free to flail with me in the comments or on our Twitter – I do always love having more people with whom to flail. Continue reading
We’re big on shipping around these parts, guys. We love ships. We love fanfiction. We love cheering for our ships even if they haven’t got a snowball’s chance in hell of becoming canon. And now… we are going to do a science and ask YOU what you ship. That’s right – we are doing a highly scientific analysis of what ships are the most prevalent around these parts. And we made a survey. You want to take this survey in the name of Asgard. It’s anonymous and takes about thirty seconds to take. HELP SCIENCE. TAKE SURVEY. Link below the cut.
Teasers, photos, metas, gifsets, spoilers and wild speculative theories for season 9 of CW’s Supernatural are left, right, center, above and below you. You can’t look at fireworks or airplanes in the night sky or shooting stars without sobbing in pain and cursing the name of Metatron; if you had a wish right now, you’d use it to sing the chorus of a Lily Allen song in his face (you know which one I mean). Going nuts from waiting for the next season of a show is one slippery slope – just look at BBC Sherlock. To keep yourself from going crazy until the next season premieres in October (so close, oh so close, yet not quite there), we recommend doing the things on this handy list. Just… to keep it together, just a little bit. Or not.
If you are a longtime reader of this blog, this headline may shock you just a little. We are very heavy on the BBC Sherlock content around here. All three of us, plus the interns, love Sherlock very much. And I suppose the headline is a little bit of an exaggeration. We’re excited to see season 3. We’re excited to see what creative torture techniques Mofftiss have come up with in the years away from 221B. But, personally, I’m very apprehensive about how the 3rd season is going to go, based on what little we’ve seen of it and previous experiences. I understand not everyone is going to agree with me on this, but bear with me – I just really, really want to say this for the record. I’m not excited for BBC Sherlock’s third season. In fact, I’m a bit terrified of it. And here’s why…
Did you recently move out of Night Vale for silly reasons, and are now feeling homesick because you can’t hail the local glow cloud, because there are no local glow clouds? (Or, do you need sinister and malevolent glowing clouds to deploy at your upcoming Halloween party?) Well, the solution here is simple, fellow citizen of Night Vale gone abroad – just make your own glow cloud, and hail it! This DIY is simple and easy.
Yarrrr! Happy Talk Like A Pirate Day, matey! We lasses here at 3 Chic Geeks be celebratin’ this fine day by drinking grog and paying tribute to ye olde pirates. Whether they be fictional or historical, here lie our favorite pirates of yore. Continue reading
So, it’s fall, and that means for some of you it’s time to decide which college you’re going to and what your major is going to be and all this other stuff about what you’re going to do with your life for the rest of eternity. Personally, when I was that age, I wanted to be a rock star, or a time-space witch. Here’s a roundup of our favorite (more or less fictional) career choices from literature, television and film; we’ll break it down for you why each job is fantastic, and why you probably would want to avoid it anyway. Read on for our picks!
With the announcement of the upcoming Fantastic Beasts film yesterday, speculation began to run rampant. Who will play Newt? Will we get to see any of our favorite Potter characters in their youth? How much will we get to learn about the American Wizarding world?
Rather than jump on the Newt fan-casting bandwagon (though if you’re interested to know, my current top two picks are Skandar Keynes and Rollo Weeks), we decided to look at the many other Potterverse characters worthy of their own spinoffs. Continue reading
Ahh, can you smell the pumpkin spice lattes in the air? Can you hear the crunch of the fallen leaves beneath the feet of the weeping angels which surround you as you blink at an inopportune moment? Can you see those spooky… wait no, no, what are we talking about? I don’t remember seeing anything, do you? Where did these tally marks come from? …Anyway, it’s autumn, and we here at 3 Chic Geeks are absolutely psyched for autumn. I’m sure, dear readers, that you agree with us – what with the pumpkin spice lattes, Halloween, Supernatural on TV, orange things, plaid flannel, cozy layers, hot tea, NYCC, warm jumpers and caramel apple Milky Ways – autumn is clearly the superior season. Of course, along with all those other wonderful things, autumn brings a veritable oncoming storm of fall fashion options. We here at 3 Chic Geeks are always pondering the contents of our closets, and today seemed like a good day to spill the contents of our wardrobes on the floor and play in our stockpiled attire until we end up with Doctor Who inspired outfits. So, um, yeah. Here you go.
