For this edition of Nerdy Fashion I decided to put my closet to the test. Be warned that this post should probably come with the tagline, Cecelia starts out exploring her closet but ends up learning things about herself. I’ve always wanted to try to dress entirely in house colors for a week, and Pottermore’s House Pride week gave me an excuse. It ended up showing me just how much of each house was in me and what advice I should start taking from each so I could become a more balanced person.
I get really extreme bouts of Harry Potter nostalgia once July rolls around. The month is just inextricably linked to Harry, I spent my teenage Julys frantically reading all of the books before I got the next one and listening to Mugglecast and accidentally falling asleep fully dressed in a Hogwarts uniform on my bedroom floor wrapped in a Harry Potter beach towel. To alleviate my Post-Potter Depression I embark on a month long journey that inevitably includes crafting of a Harry Potter persuasion. The keys are obviously inspired by the flying keys in Sorcerer’s/Philosopher’s Stone. They’re really wonderful year round decoration, and would be awesome on a Christmas tree, around an altar space at a wedding, around a boring ceiling light, or above a baby’s crib instead of a mobile (gotta start ’em young). My new goal is to make so many I don’t need blinds anymore, I can just have winged key sun catchers for privacy.

Stony, Merthur, and Destiel all made it to the next round for the Fan Favorites while on the Canon side The Ponds, Harkness/Universe, Romione and 10th/Rose round out the Elite Eight. Continue reading
After an intense first round, we have our Sweet Sixteen.
On the Fan Favorites side Johnlock, Wincest, Stony, Nuna, Bagginshield, Merthur, Legolas/Gimli and Destiel have all advanced. The slash couples have definitely done well in the Shipping Wars.
In the Canon conference The Ponds, Zoe/Wash, Buffy/Angel, Jack Harkness/The Universe, Romione, Black Hawk, Eowyn/Faramir, and The 10th Doctor/Rose made it to round two. While The Ponds are the favorite to win overall, there are some definite dark horses that could make it to the end. Continue reading
HA! You thought you were safe when we did our lists of fictional boys, didn’t you? But the three of us enjoy crushing everyone’s dreams on an equal opportunity basis. And thus, this list was born. We’ve
gotten drunk and picked names out of a hat scientifically analyzed all our favorite girl crushes and then sniffed out all the reasons why they’d be terrible dates. Enjoy. Continue reading
